A Mysterious Halloween Night – Raven & Skull Card Inspiration
Hello spooky friends! Cristina here from UniekMakes, and welcome to Day 2 of my 13 Days of Craftoween with Spellbinders! Today’s project features one of my absolute favorite Halloween motifs—a sassy raven on a skull, dressed to impress and ready to haunt your craft room in the best way possible. 🖤
Today’s Featured Die: Mysterious Raven & Skull

When I opened Day 2 of the Spellbinders Craftoween kit and saw this dapper raven wearing a top hat and monocle, I gasped with joy! He’s perched right on top of a spooky little skull, and I immediately knew I wanted the card to feel mysterious, classy, and a little eerie—but still cute.

This die set gives total Victorian Halloween vibes and is perfect for:
- Greeting cards
- Art journal spreads
- Framed Halloween decor
- Gift tags with flair
And don’t get me started on the font in the included sentiment:
“Wishing you a mysterious Halloween night” — YES. Just yes.
Supplies I Used:
- Spellbinders Day 2 Die Set (raven, skull, hat, monocle, bow)
- Matte black cardstock (raven)
- White cardstock (skull)
- Deep blue + black cardstock (hat + accents)
- Glossy enamel dots (background embellishments)
- Foam tape for dimension
- Simple gray card base for a clean, modern look

I’ll walk you through layering the die cuts, choosing colors to create contrast, and how to make the sentiment pop without overpowering the design. It’s beginner-friendly but still feels elevated—like something you’d find in a gothic stationery boutique
Style Tips:
- Try cutting the raven from felt or velvet paper for extra texture
- Add a few iridescent stars or sequins around the skull for a magical night sky feel
- Want it spookier? Ink the edges of the skull with Distress Ink for that “fresh from the crypt” vibe
- Make multiples for a Halloween card set—they come together fast!
